Need help to sell my graphics card

    Hi Guys/Girls

I recently built my first gaming rig around a month ago as i had been planning to move from consoles quite some time ago... much to my dismay new hardware was released this month so i would like to upgrade already.lol.

I have a gtx 780ti phantom that i would like to sell and upgrade to the new 980 or 980ti but im finding it hard to find the best place to sell as pc gaming is fairly new to me..

Any help you guys/girls can give would be much appreciated?

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

Just stick with what you have. In a few more months Nvidia and AMD will release their Titan II and R9 390X cards and you will want to upgrade again.

Ignore all the sillyness on forums - most of the people changing over from GTX780/GTX780TI/R9 290/R9 290X setups are serial upgraders and more worried about new shiny then any real need to upgrade.

    Edit!!

    Its really a sidegrade IMHO:

You save some money in power consumption costs, but I doubt even if you play 30 hours of games a week for 52 weeks of the year, you will save more than £20 to £30 a year.

Definitely not worth upgrading as CAT says. Enjoy what you have!

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

Again its really not worth upgrading from a 780ti

however I just sold my old 560ti on Ebay and it went really smoothly, always remember to keep the original boxes that always helps

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

Yep, I agree with all above, you'll make a loss on your GTX780Ti, you'll then need to find the extra cash for the GTX980 and you won't see a very big increase in performance for all the trouble you've had to go through. I would expect at best a 5 to 7 frames per second increase over the your existing GTX780Ti. So assuming you spent £430 on that card, you might be able to get about £300 back, You would need to add another £130 on top to get the cheapest GTX980 now so the real cost would work out at £560 to you, it is hardly worth it for a marginal increase in frame rate.

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

Don't bleeding upgrade from that big waste of money. That is a heck of a good card, if that couldn't run games at your current resolution smoothly nor would the upgrade be.

It is top notch. Even if you had multiple monitors the upgrade wouldn't make a difference.

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

To really answer the question, selling them on eBay will not be hard as long as you price it right

But like the others said, 780Ti -> 980 is not much of an upgrade, but if you can sell ur 780Ti for a good price then why not

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

Thank you for all the replies guys much appretiated

Was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on the sale price as to my card because they have stopped making the 780 and 780 ti so surely someone wanting that sli upgrade would spend more than the 300 pounds on it?

Re: Need help to sell my graphics card

Looks like you can get a new one for £335 from Scan. Ask yourself, wouldn't you spend the extra £30 on a brand new one with a warranty from a business you could go back to if it blew up after you installed it?

To be honest, I would go for a new 780 Ti rather than second hand one. You might have more luck around the £250 price point.. but as the others have said you maybe better off keeping it for the time being and getting some more use out if it. 20nm cards will be out next year too.

Also, if you use ebay to sell your card there'll be fees that have to be deducted from what you get for it.
