It depends on the type of games you like to play, the resolution of your monitor, & the image quality you want to have in your games. Generally I'd say buy the best card you can afford, but as ever with these things, diminishing returns can set in at the top end.

You can compare the two GPUs below. There is a tangible difference between the two, but I guess only you can decide if it's worth the difference in price. I notice you have a fairly modest CPU, which might limit your GPU in certain CPU intensive games...

If you're gaming at 1080p I'd think you'll be okay for now, but as new games come out, it's possible that you'll be CPU limited. What sort of games do you tend to play?

The 270 and 270x are identical cards. The 270x is just clocked around 100mhz higher. Get the 270 and just overclock it and it will perform exactly the same if not better than 270x.
Mrjim does make a good point though. You should consider putting a bit of money aside for a CPU upgrade in the future if necessary

I have the same decision to make. My GTX 460 conked out last week, and I need a replacement. £100 to £120-ish is my budget. Not really much to choose from. 750Ti, but it looks bit weak. Not many GTX 660 cards left at this price. GTX 760 is too expensive. An R9 270 seems to be my best choice. I haven't owned an ATI/AMD card since my ill-fated 9600XT, though. Hopefully their drivers are more stable now.
