Re: DX 12 early benchmarks
I'm trying hard not to get drawn into the hype over this. We are at the point where there are more rumours and unsabstantiated conjecture at the moment and I want to read hard, reliable facts and a good balanced analysis of the data.
Re: DX 12 early benchmarks
Looking good, but I'll be sceptical until I see mainstream games take advantage of DX12.
Re: DX 12 early benchmarks
I hear that DX12 might not be released for Windows 7.
I'll survive.

I think the uptake is going to be huge. It's going to get pushed hard for XB1 and PC versions will likely be based off of the XB1 versions...
Re: DX 12 early benchmarks
I guess the question is how far back the dx12 support will go in the NVidia and AMD product lines.
This is great news though on the performance part, thanks DanceswithuNix .

AMD HD7000 Series and nVidia Fermi are the earliest to be supported I believe.

Oh noes! if only MS would offer a free upgrade to Windows 10 for all Windows 7 and 8 users!
Oh, wait... :P
AMD have confirmed that DX12 will run on all GCN cards, I think, so 7-series is a reasonable call (although watch out for some of the really low end stuff that's rebadges of the 5000-series, and of course the IGPs are VLIW before Kaveri, so if you're on a Llano/Trinity/Richland APU you won't get DX12 either...). Fermi doesn't sound unreasonable for NVidia, but I have no evidence to support that supposition... ;)
