Can a game kill a graphics card?

Well guys R290 delivered and at first thought it wasn't working and the instruction leaflet is not very good as it didn't work at first because it needed a 8pin and 6pin plug connected...also it doesn't say what socket to connect the monitor. Incidentally they assume you already have a 8 pin plug and give you an extra 6pin plug to connect to a couple of molex plugs.
The 7770 temporarily in no1 computer wasn't happy as I was getting some horizontal lines on the monitor, but back in no2 computer it's now happy with no problems.

You can use any socket that suits your connection type to display you have. For instance sometimes I output to a HDTV via HDMI connection, other times DVI to a monitor and very occasionally both screens are connected.

Well it's a bad design then, if with the fans on the card and all the fans going on a Haf-x and in the spring time in the UK....it overheats.
