    Which monitor?

    Hi guys.

I'm looking for a new monitor to replace my current 15" Dell as it has a crap picture.

I'm on a tight budget, a max of really £170 and I want a TFT.

The monitor will be used mostly for gaming, this means I want good response times and no ghosting!

I've been reccomended this, is this the best out there for my tight budget ? If not, what should I go for?

    Cheers

I`ve got one and it`s OK for most games (at least the grandaughter`s not complaining and she`s into all the faster games).
That must be the new version, I got a couple of the 1720B`s which sold out extremely fast.....
Look out for whether it`s 16.2 M colours or 16.7 M cos that tells you summat about the type of panel ( 6 or 8 bit colour) and the speed.

I have the 16ms one and it's great. Teeny bit of ghosting if you look hard, but as that one is 12ms there should be little or none
    Well worth the money.

    Ok guys, thanks for that.

Final question as i've now seen a 19" for a very good price, problem is the response time is 25ms, will this be a problem when gaming and should I get the 17" with 12ms or should I stop worrying and just get the 19"?

25ms is not very good (was gonna say CRAP but not got any Nomex handy).

So will it be a problem when gaming? ( That's what it's going to be used for 95% of the time )

    Get the 17".
The 25ms will give quite noticable ghosting.

    Yeah! What`s 2" between friends???
Depends on what type of friends I guess
17" is near like a 19" crt anyway so ample for games and 19" is near double the price or add a ton.
Get `em while you can cos the oversupply won`t last for ever.

Out of interest, has anyone got a 19" TFT, with 1600x1200 max res and a 12ms response time? Or don't they exist yet?

Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+ 19" LCD Monitor

8ms response but currently £420, but as the rivals bring out similar products the price will drop dramatically.
