    6600GT vs 9800pro@XT

i got a 9800pro flashed to XT but running at pro speeds and was wondering if it would be worth getting the Galaxy 6600GT?

Not as an upgrede, no - the performance jump won't be very noticable.

The performance you're getting will be the same as a 6600GT, no point at all.

    thanks very much

am very pleased with the 9800pro and don't really need to change it at the moment but have had it for a month or so and getting the urge to upgrade again , looks like i'll have to get saving for a 6800.

The performance of 6600GTs is generally better than 9800 Pros, except when the resolution and AA is turned up. However, for the money, it isn't worth upgrading.

The 6600gt will perform better in Doom 3, everything else would be too close to call, 9800pro@xt will probably perform better in HL2

IF you got a 9800pro/xt i wouldnt upgrade unless its to a X800Pro/6800GT or higher. In fact now I think about it the next gen of cards will prob be a better upgrade. Just wait for them.

All of the above is what I would say too unless you were one of the lucky ones to pick up the pcw ones at £100
