    Thumbs up Best monitor buy

Anyone have any advice on the best monitor to buy (CRT/TFT) for about £350? I'll be staring at this goggle box for about 5-7 hours a day (well mainly playing games) and I want crystal clear picture and good colour quality that this type of money can buy.

I always advise TFT, im not going back and its only going to get better.

But for absolute picture quality CRT is still the best. I prefer the way TFT treats my eyes, no refresh rate and great at any distance. And you can certainly get a good TFT for £350. More desk space, less heat, no refresh rate. All worth it

Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+ 19" LCD Monitor

This is an 8ms TFT, ideal for gaming i guess although i have never used one.

At the moment OcUK are selling these for £420 but give it a couple of months and it should be alot closer to your £350 budget.

LG`s are good panels and value. 19" should be below £300. Iiyama Prolites are always a good choice but higher price
If you`re using for games go for 12ms or better if you can find them.
Most 19`s are massive compared to crt 19" and handle upto1280x1024.
Watch out for whether 16.2M or 16.8M colours as some of the faster ones actually have only 16.2 and interpolate the extra.
Certainly tft`s are much easier on the eyes for long term use and the desk space they free up is enormous even on the larger ones.
If you want dvi, expect to pay extra and they are a bit faster but at sub 12ms you`ll not notice much difference.
We`re just trying out some new 17 and 19 AG Neovo`s at a very good price and they`re quite good up till now, especially on dvi.
No dead pixels from 6 of each or the 3 LG`s and a couple LG panelled no names and Samsung has just announced a "no dead pixel" policy which will likely spread.
Can only get better but I still want 1600x1200 at a decent price though using 2x17`s or 2x19`s for an extended desktop is now eminently possible.
Certainly beats the 2 deskfuls of 21" and 19" Iiyama`s I used to have at work.
