AMD -> Nvidia procedure

Treated myself and got a shiny new 980Ti arriving tomorrow. Since I'm stepping up from a 270X, I'm hoping it's just a case of uninstalling the AMD drivers, swapping cards and installing the nvidia drivers..

But is it going to be that simple? Not really wanting to go with a full OS re-install. Are there any tips/tools I should be aware of?

These days it is that simple. Make sure to uninstall the install manager in control panel first, that should then automatically remove all remnants. You can then do a further pass with AMD's clean up utility:

I was hoping there'd be a tool that rips everything out if the uninstaller manages to miss anything, thanks for the tip!

it seems they've managed to fix their installer issues, as I remember only 6 months back or so they were recommended using a third party program to uninstall their beta drivers

Make sure you also grab the latest NVIDIA drivers which are available via the Geforce Experience app or you can find a slightly older NVIDIA driver located on the NVIDIA website.
