Spdif out on graphics card suggestions please

Hi all I'm building a htpc as cheap as reasonable, for use with Plex home theatre app.

My DVD player has fantastic surround sound with optical in.

So I need optical out from the PC... Was wondering if anybody know of a good graphics card that will do this?

    Thanks

Is there a reason why you want an audio output from a graphics card? And not from a sound card?

Also consider that many motherboards have an on-board optical audio output.

I'm not aware of any graphics cards that have optical audio outputs, but practically all modern graphics cards have digital audio outputs via HDMI or even DVI and DP.

As above - it'd probably be preferable to take HDMI, but if your DVD player can't, then just take optical from the motherboard.

Ahh yes I should have mentioned that. Basically I was going to buy the HP Microserver, it doesn't have sound on the motherboard, but does have ONE PCIex16 slot.

I've gone with the Dell T20 now, while it doesn't look as nice, it does have multiple PCIe slots, so this isn't such a big issue now.

However, yes I'll still need an optical out. Having looked, I can pay as little as £7 for one, or £100's.

I really just need the cheapest for home theater pc use with Plex.

    any suggestions?

Thanks for your quick replies BTW. I think limiting myself to one PCIe was the thought, and it's just a bad idea!
