I currently own a Hitachi 17" TFT and I am toying with the idea of replacing it with a 19" TFT. What would you guys recommend?

Maybe I need to be more specific.
I do not want to pay more than £350 for it
16ms or less response time.

Viewsonic 19" VX912 TFT LCD from lowestontheweb is about a tenner more but has a 12ms response

The VX912 has very good reviews. But I believe it is a 16.2m colour TFT and not 16.7m colours. The Viewsonic Web site just talks about '16 million colours' - usually a bad sign!
"The Viewsonic Web site just talks about '16 million colours' - usually a bad sign!"
Acctually it doesnt say at all on there site (that I can see). There sales manager wasnt too sure either when I spoke to him.
I can comfirm however it is definatly 16.2m colours. Its not that noticable unless your right up close. Its no where near as bad as a more expensive sony TFT I had. Just about all 16ms or less panels will now be 16.2m colours only. All fast TF+filmdisplays are 16.2m.
If you want 16.7 get a 25ms panel, as these are usually not tn+film, but instead IPS? (think thats what its called?)..
I can say my VX912 is possibly the nicest computer related thing I have ever owned... And the sony, well that was the WORST
Ok so these 16.2 million tft's are not all bad then, I just need to avoid the Sony. I will look into the Viewsonic.

If he wants a high performing 16.7m colour monitor, he should consider going for a 20ms Hydis based, which in all likelihood is going to outperform the so called "12ms" Viewsonic with regard to response times.
What is with you and making global statements that are just wrong?Originally Posted by |SilentDeath|

Ignore all the technical waffle in this thread (the majority of which is a downright inaccurate) and snatch a few reviews off the web. Toms would be a good place to start.Originally Posted by wedge22
Is there alot of difference between analogue and DVI inputs as the LG only has analogue.

Wedge i would put buying a tft off for now mate. Prices are dropping at last
If theres no problem with your current display then hold off until you can get a 19" panel thats good for 1600x1200 with a decent response time. If you can wait you will be rewarded with a better screen for less cash
When has that not been true? As most of us know, if we follow the advice to hold off, we'd never buy anything. Anyway, IMO, the big price drop already happened. And that was because new, faster refresh, products were just around the corner. Don't look for the new 8ms TFTs to be ultra-keen on price.Originally Posted by steve threlfall

No. But that's not to say that someone won't make one in the future...Originally Posted by DaBeeeenster
If your still looking for a 19" with a low response time, for under £350, then take a look at this....
