Anybody else getting weird issues like black screens after new nvidia drivers?

At random intervals from boot I'm getting black screens etc. I am running ddu and will run older drivers. This is just annoying as hell. I remember all the crap people said about amd drivers but I've never had anything like this while using amd drivers.

They did have a problem with a recent driver... Nvidia Yanks Problematic GeForce 364.47 Driver Update
    .
Get the newer 364.51 for the fix.

Re: Anybody else getting weird issues like black screens after new nvidia drivers?

This has been mentioned all over the 'net the last day or two. Not choosing the "Express Install" option apparently solves the problem, but rolling back to the previous is probably the safest thing to do. As far as driver problems is concerned, I've not had a single problem with Nvidia's drivers in the last 5 or 6 years as far as I can recall. If you want to be absolutely safe I would stop using GeForce Experience (if you're doing so) and always wait a day or two before updating to the latest driver so you can check if other people are having problems.

I didn't see anything on hexus or on youtube and was freaking out today because I thought my monitor was dying. Im usually quite osd about having the latest drivers etc but will wait a bit in the future.

Re: Anybody else getting weird issues like black screens after new nvidia drivers?

I was getting a whole load of 5061 audit failure alarms which I googled to find NVIDIA drivers have been been implicated in but so have other sources in PCs without NVIDIA H/W.
I figured they might have had something to do with me fiddling with Vbox.
(not that I was overly worried about them)

Re: Anybody else getting weird issues like black screens after new nvidia drivers?

After reverting back to 362.00 Im still getting the random black screens. This issue only followed me because I downloaded the newer "fix" driver. Can anyone help? Also I didn't do express installs the last few times and no change.

Re: Anybody else getting weird issues like black screens after new nvidia drivers?

I seemed to have fixed it. I just had to run the latest ddu and go into safe mode etc and reinstall 362.00 and no black screen so far.
