    It looks very pretty.

What exactly are you asking an option on, value for money, performance foi g office tasks, performance gaming, it's engineering build quality?

Yea, it's quite an amazing card, you can get it for like £185 and imo that is a great value for money. Though you might have concerns with heat and temperature:
DO NOT get the ref cooler, it is loud as all hell and is super hot
A high quality 550W PSU could do the job

Not all ref cooler's are hot, mine maxed out at 69c with 65% fan speed, thats with a oc to 1100/1500 with plus 64volts.

Sure am, yes it hot with auto fan speed, but who does that, when you would have a headset on.

The temps depend on how good your airflow is, also i changed the paste to mx-4.

Bottom card is the 290x, top is a 290 with a ek block.

Did you do something to your card? It looks a bit different?

    Re: RADEON x9 290x

As above on the value front they are hard to beat, basically a 390x with slightly lessor clocks and 4GB ram, more than up to todays gaming needs.

I love them so much I have 2 in crossfire.
