Is my gtx750ti-oc dead on arrival? Help!

    Hi guys,

So I bought an Asus gtx750ti-oc used from eBay, which for some ungodly reason turned up in an envelope!

Fearing the worst, I plugged it in and tried to start up my system.. the fans spin and there's an LED on it that lights up, but nothing through any of the ports and it doesn't show up in device manager at all when my monitor is connected to the onboard graphics.

Is there anything I might be missing? I downloaded the NVIDIA Display Drver installation program but it's telling me it cannt continue because it can't find any compatible graphics hardware.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Sounds like it, if it's not I wouldn't know how to fix the problem

Did you remember the additional PCI-E power cable?

I Would have started a claim as soon as it hit the letterbox.

Yeah, added the PCI-E cable - the fans spin up so it's getting power, just nothing in device manager

I did as soon as I got it home (had to collect from delivery office). The guy refunded me pretty much instantly, which makes me think he might have been trying to pull a fast one from the start!

I'd wager that the guy knew it was broken and is trying to scam the postal insurance for the cost of the sale....

They will write a letter to the destination address if he does put in a claim.

Sounds a bit ominous, what do they ask for? Should I hold onto it and the "packaging" in case?

I would, I had RM write to ask about a missing package the the sender was claiming compo for.

Shove it out the way for a few months, take as many pics as you can to prove the guy didn't package it properly so they dismiss his claim.

Yeah. Pictures are your friend. And for selling now I've taken to videoing GPUs in my rig, starting up, showing the noise levels, showing GPUZ and everything to show its all running prior to posting.

This is probably the most sensible thing to do.
