4400 is actually faster than the 4800SE as clock speeds tend to always be 275/550 ... it's clock speed alone which differentiates between the whole GF4TI range in perf. I've heard of Xfx but they are one of the small companies so you may find less stringent quality control, component quality etc etc. However diffs between manus are miniscule for GF4TI excluding 'Special' Editions. So basically ANY GF4TI4400 is still a great card and capable of taking on the GF-FX5600ultra and Rad9600PRO so long as you avoid DX9 and medium to high AA+AF. You should find clocks are 275/550 and a likely o/c should be between 290/620 and 320/650 which will give you GF4TI4600/4800 speeds.

According to the UK website Xfx only make a 4200. "GEFORCE4 Ti 4200 TURBO 8X AGP 128MB DDR VIVO & DVI Popular". However it would appear it's clocked at 250/620 which would make it faster (esp o/c'ed) than GF4TI4400 ... could just be they make more variants than they list or don't list the 4400/4600 series as they aren't made anymore.

Looking at the US site http://www.xfxforce.com/products.php the 4400 is listed and they only make 2 models one with TVout and the other with VIVO. Even a std 4200 is great for £55 esp if it has 128MB ... was that a 2nd hand deal?

You should notice a big difference esp in modern games or when applying 2xAA+4xAF type settings esp in older games. The faster your CPU the bigger the perf of the GF4TI. Let us know how you get on...

Card came today, seemed fine until i tried to take off the HSF, one of the bridges(the part that connects them) kind of fell off. Still put it in and it seems to run fine, not sure if this will cause any long term problems though. 3dmarks gave me a 5k boost, which is sweet, and finally got to see all those other tests. Tried some o/c got to 320/630 with no problems in 3dmarks, however ut2003 doesnt like this and i have to go back to 300/600 which is 100% ok, guess i could increase that a bit. Overall i am very happy with the thing, since this is a stop gap card, gunna try a bit of volt modding
