    XFX Brand any good?

    Hello,
I want to get hold of a 6800GT PCI-E card soon, and I am looking around trying to get release dates on various brands. One of the brands I was considering was XFX, but I have heard a couple of stories about bad experiences with them, but not enough for me to be able to decide, as everyone knows, bad news travels faster then good news.

What do people think of XFX?

Your opinions as always are appreciated to the fullest!

    Thankyou

    -Leonard

I don't worry too much about the brand name for graphics cards. If you are supplied with a working card then the chances are it will work just fine for a very long time regardless of the manufacturer. Problems are often with a particular batch rather than with a manufacturer as a whole. It would be nice to have more information on the quality control procedures of various manufacturers but unfortunatly there are very few acrticles dedicated to this aspect of the industry. Choose a retailer who will quickly and efficiently replace the card if you do experience any problems and don't be in a rush to invalidate your warranty by modding it unless you can afford to buy a replacement.

XFX is a brand name of Pine Technology and their cards are just as good as anybody elses really.

    I'll be swapping my gainward 5950U for a 6800GT PCI-E from XFX shortly ( i.e hopefully today )

Cool, in regard to companies that are good with customer warranties, support and replacements, are XFX any good? Cheers. I used to be an ATI man myself and just making a change over for the forseeable future, ATI brands I know well, but nVidia is a whole new world to me!

Also how good are XFX at being OC'd?

XFX are one of the best companys. Thier 6800Gt is the best 6800GT you can get. It is abt £100 cheaper in the US btw.

Everythings cheaper in the US... but also US bought products rarely have a valid warranty outside the country. I like to be able to have in the country to whinge at if it doesnt work

Look forward to hearing your verdict monkeyboyuk!
