I've gone ahead and ordered a x850 platinum to go in my Gigabyte board. Not SLI, but I've got the option to put two new SLI cards in when the x850's too slow - shouldn't be for a while yet.Originally Posted by nvening

Definitely, but it gives me options. I couldn't resist the X850 PE - it just looked so damn fast!
Who says the X850 XT PE won't do AMR?

Just buy 2 geforce 6800ultras and use nvidia sli
nvidia sli has better preformance than ati sindle cards
and nvidia is class at opengl games like doom3
but it costs a hell of a lot more andati is so much nicer

i thought sli was unique only to nvidia? or have ati engineered a similar system?
No doubt ATI will jump on the SLI bandwagon, they cant afford not to - bragging rights and all that.
there is losds of talk abt it, just google it, but i cant find the new news

He said ATi 'x' meaning that he wasn't telling anyone what it will be called, just that it was in the works..
