Workstation-class GFX card needed with hardware video compression - advice?

Building a workstation for a friend... the workstation is not for 3D work its mainly large-scale photoshop and video-editing.

Is there a graphics card around, or perhaps add-in board, which provides some hardware compression/decompression along with it?

Cheers for the help in advance...
