8250 odd without much overclocking on my kit.
I'd like to hit 10k if possible, once I get the watercooling back up.

    From memory, about:-

    About 3700 on a 6800/3200+
    About 4500 on a 6800GT/3200+

With the new driver optimisations, the scores shoot up quite considerably, which makes it a pretty ****ty benchmark since Futuremark have approved the optimisations. Stick some real 3d engines into this thing!

My GPU blocks left Hong Kong today, so hopefully 10K is getting nearer.

AGP xfx 6600gt, winchester 3000, 1gig corsair 3200 - ALL running at stock speeds and latencies. I don't poke around too much lest i mess it all up by burning a hole through it!

    lol, my thoughts exactly

other than overclocking further, what tips can anyone off in raising scores, i could do with new ram with tighter timings admittedly but what else are major factors??

GFX card speed is THE major factor. Tweaking ram timings is good for a few points, but the major gains are in card clocks.

As for the 7700 score, either he has a really good 6600GT that just happens to be the fastest gfx card in the world, or that's an 03 number.

    6800ultra @ 463/1280

    Could do with a 64bit cpu, 2500xpm @ 2.6 and I think I am still cpu limited.
