Gamecube on PC

is there a card that would allow me to connect my gamecube and play it through my pc? guessing it'd a a tv card or something? the cable from the 'cube has the 3 red, yellow and white cables and a scart adapter.

yeah, if you've got a composite video in on your video card, or a dedicated capture card, or tv tuner card, it'll do exactly what you want

The red and white phono connectors are your audio lines, and the yellow one is the video

how do i know if i have composite video in on my card? im guessing im going to have to buy soemthing to do this though.

any reccomendations on anything cheap? and if its a tv card am i going to have to get a tv license or is there a way i dont need to if im not using it for tv? (sorry, student, dont know about this stuff yet)

You're laughing if you've got any sort of ATi All In Wonder, or a Geforce VIVO card..

Which video card do you have at the moment?

If you've not got anything suitable, then you'd be looking at either a fairly cheap capture card (or even a usb addon), or a tv tuner card..

Right, you'll either be looking at a capture card or a tv tuner, I'd be tempted to go with the tv tuner as it'd give you capture as well as tv capabilities..

Unless you're looking at upgrading your video card any time soon..

not looking at upgrading really, and with a tv card i'd need a tv license to watch it and cant afford that either, so it looks like a capture card it is then.

That's the sort of card you'd need, I can't speak for the quality though.

I notice that it's got an s-video cable too, if you used that it'd give you a lot better picture, but you'd need to buy an s-video cable for your gamecube.

Still, it's only £20

yeah, well i could push it up to about £40, but thats absolute max, thankfully its my birthday next week so i should be bale to afford it. any ideas on what and where to get one from?

just adding my 2p in here, i'v got one of these it's a vga box and it's sit's between my pc and montor and let's me play my xbox gamecube and ps2 on my montor and you dont even need a tv license
i find the vga box beter to play the consoles on then a tv card because it dose not use any cpu/memory resorces, but if you own a tft i dont think it will work, mine dose not like my tft becasue my tft dose not like doing 50hz (tv rez)

mmm, thought about them but figured that i'd rather have it playing through the computer anyway. found a fairly cheap card near me so bought it yesterday. works quite well, i just need an rca audio to 3.5mm jack to get sound

there is only one good vga box, the micomsoft xrgb2+, which is here

which DOES work rather well with my iiyama TFT, since it upscans to 60hz, with decent image quality (especially compared to a TV card)

not cheap, though
