    so many choices! which tft?

    hi,

i am in the market to get a tft monitor as my current crt is beginning to annoy me.

i do not play games on my pc and only use it for work (internet, documents, multimedia/graphics based stuff, dvds).

i would like a 24-bit / 16.7 million colour display as i work with images, designing various things and video. this is most likely to give the best colour.

budget can range from £200-330 ish

    i would like either a 17" or 19".

the most important thing is clarity - be it for text or images. the colours have to look right as possible.

    any recommendations?

i have been mainly looking at LG and Sony 17" and 19" models as they seem to offer 16.7 million colours. Also some Viewsonics and Samsung.

    thanks,

Just outside your budget is the Hyundai Imagequest L90D+. I've ordered one from MicroDirect a few days ago and it should be at home when I get back at the end of this week - they actually put the price down even further a few days after I ordered it. It's 19", 8mS (good for DVD's) and 24-bit 16.7M colours (according to the Hyundai and MD site), DVI and VGA inputs! It's a bargain from MD at the moment (on special offer), in stock and only £5 postage as well.

I have the Sharp LL-172GB. It is very good imo, comes with a DVI cable in the box (non-captive), has good refresh ratios etc, nice colour reproduction. V good imo, great for DVDs and games

The Dell 17" E173FP is pretty reasonable I think, heard some good things about them. Currently on offer at Aria too, £158inc.

    Pity they aren't 1600x1200.

The sharp is very god, im getting one. Not every one wants such a high resolution, if they want to play new games then it wont be as good cause the high res will sloww it all down. But you say that there is no gaming so the higher resolution would be good, do you want a really good 17" or an ok 19"?
