Quad Desktop Anyone?

A few of you will have indulged in SLI, much as I am going to shortly, and now you have four lovely DVI connectors to play with. If you've not gone for SLI, but you're wondering about the possibilities available with PCI Express and dual-card graphics, MSI might have the answer with their "Dual Bridge System".

That looks amazing! Only thing is, to get 4 decent TFT's you're gona have to pay a load of money. Maybe someday.

LOL, how the heck could you play an FPS on 4 monitors? 3 maybe with a wider viewing angle... but I suppose the game would have to have an ultra wide resolutions ability.

Doesn't matter how many monitors D3 is set up on, it will still be too dark. :devilish:

well you would use 3 side by side. front , front left and front wirght. And one extra over the front middle as a rear view. PErfect set up for FPS cheaters and driving games. :)

a 360 degree field to render? Even a 6800 would choke on that.

i'd hate the middle of my view to be taken up by plastic screen edge! better to hook up a 25 screen wall and sit way back :devilish:

If you want it big, use a projector!! Would be cheaper and better to look at then all those TFT's! ;)

2 GPUs, no SLI. Sounds perfect

I think you may have all missed the point, never mind what the bezels do, the latest edition of PC Zone says that you can take any two PCI-E GPUs and combine them, dunno how it works. On the other hand SLI needs two identical GPUs from same manufacturer etc. and will only give output from one card ( max 2 monitors). The reviews say SLI works, Cobra proves it, but is this just smoke and mirrors?
I presently want to build a wonderful games machine, the money has been out of view of the wife for a while, and I wonder if it is worth holding on. Why buy SLI if this works? Original post is in intro thread but any views on this? :undecided :undecided

ACtually toms HW did tests and you can run with 2 standard video cards (even from ATI) in non sli mode. Quad view. :) anyone. lol

As for you projector freaks, there was a DIY article on how to make projector using an lcd monitor and an el'cheapo acetate projector. under 300$ us.

When we launched IGP9100 around September 2003, it was (AFAIK) the first set-up where plugging in a graphic card to a motherboard with built-in graphics...

At the recent Video Forum show down at Earl's Court, the DV Doctor/Hexus stand had a unique system from SavRow which featured an RS480 board (integrated X300), an X850 XT PE and an early sample of the Theatre 550 Pro card

We were only driving 3 TFTs simultaneously - but there was one more connector left for a 4th screen

This set up was specifically created for editing digital content...

..but this kind of set up could be amazing for gaming

I always thought that a Flight Sim played with views forward, over each wing and maybe a 'belly cam' would be interesting

Now where did I leave my vibrating 'sens-a-round chair' ?...
