In wondering about this, does the molex connector that is connected to the graphics card only be connected to my gfx card? I ask because on the Galaxy website it shows this:
Is this necessary? I only ask because I only have 5 molex connectors on my psu and I have 2 dvd/dvd-rw drives and 2 hard drives, so I only have one left. On top of that I have a couple of case fans that run off molex connectors.

Maybe they're thinking about the amount of current draw per line? Or variations in voltage when the HDD spins up..or something?
Kinda sounds like...."turn your trousers inside out before washing"...not that something is likely to happen, but you're taking all precautions possible. IMO, if you can, do it, if not don't worry!

mine comes straight off the PSU...its a tagan 420w that has its own AGP power cable/line. I'm assuming this would be the same regardless of agp make even if it came with a connector (to the hdd)

it's always best to give it a dedicated feed or at worst make it the first device supplied off that cable.
Gets a bit trickier with PCI-E cards as they use 2 molex and recommend 2 separate dedicated feeds.
