    [Abormal service begins]

This iz an eztimated guezz, but i dont think its unreas. 2 assume that NE modern TV/PVR card will allow U2 Ncode all D dfault PAL + NTSC rezs 2gether with variat.ns:-

    [Normal service resumed]

    352 x 240 (NTSC)
    352 x 288 (PAL),

and POSSIBLY selectable resolutions of say:

    704 x 240
    704 x 480 (NTSC)
    704 x 288(PAL)
    704 x 576 (PAL)

and user selected variations thereof such as 720x480, 480x480, 720x480, 352x280, 480x576, 720x576 etc etc

I wouldn't have thought that you'd want to encode at highers resolutions because the resolution from the input signal is always going to be limited.

So to answer your question, I'm guessing that its going to be 720 (or 704) x 576.

Its worth have a gander at afterdawn.com and tv-cards.com
