    Asus V999GT 128MB Question

Ive seen this advertised at around £210-£220? I know this is becuase it only has DDR1 RAM, but it still has 16 pipelines. So its a GT with 6800nu memory. My question is, how good is it? Is it better than the standard GT by much?

its good, but not lot better, kinda like a pre overclocked one.

my sys (see sig) gets around 8500 on 3d mark 03 and 9700 when overclocked but not unlocked. my friends V99999999999999GT gets 10500, which is a little more, but then he has an athlon 64 3200+ in it, i guess mine would do similar if i unlocked it (if it works).

i'd go for the £180 6800 vanilla from lowestonweb to be honest

    i concur (agree)

the leadtek ones are super value for money, or for a little more you can go for a fully fledged gt (with 256mb) for ~ £240/50

As the guys above have said, I'd go for the vanilla 6800 from LOW for £170.

so the extra 4 pipelines dont make much difference? Interesting, would that be due to the memory limitation due you think?

they make about 10-20% difference, but i can up my benchmark score by a similar amount by overclocking, probably cos the glacier card ive got has lower latency memory that clocks slightly higher?

my suspicion is that you're right and if there was mory memory to play with they may make a larger difference......i wonder
