Gap between hybrid cooled graphic card

Hi,

I bought two 980 a while back, and my motherboard PCIE slots were too close, so the MSI Gaming GTX 980 cards were too close and the fans were not getting cool air blowing onto the top card, etc etc. I'm not back on a single card.

So, I'm now thinking about a 1080Ti, the MSI Sea Hawk has a "Hydro Series Liquid Cooling module", but it also still has a fan on the bottom of the card (when seated). Will I also have the same issue here with this bottom fan not getting enough cool air, or will the liquid cooling be enough?

At worst the problem will be far less severe, as the fan only provides cooling to VRMs and memory modules. However, the gap between the two cards won't be much wider and as the rear of the Sea Hawk will get fairly hot during extended load, the fan on the upper card will certainly be sucking in relatively hot air.

Given the restrictions set by both case and motherboard, I'd limit myself to a single card if I were you. 1 x 1080 Ti will be as fast, or faster, than 2 x 980 anyway.
