    Grrr x800 and vpu errors pls help Andrzej or anyone :(

    well, this has been a problem since having this card really,
    i'll load up a game, and a lot of the time its great, i game for hours fine, but other times the screen will lock up, i'll fill my pants, and then i'll get the ati box appearing telling me that the card has stopped responding etc etc

    well, this is really annoying as it runs 3d mark 05 fine all the time but not games, this happens on css, dawn of war and ut04 stangely doom3 and hl2 seem to be unaffected though, im sure i read a thread about a similar problem a while ago and it was put down to the via 4 in 1 drivers ? if i remember ?? but im not sure (sieve-like memory)

    well anyways my specs are in my sig and checking the temps, they are ok

    so pleaaaase guys im counting on you

    thanx a lot

    Have you tried turning off VPU recover?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    i THINK ive sorted the problem, i tried the via drivers on the asus website rather than viaarena.

    im not sure if they are updated or the same ones that came on my mobo cd but it seems to work at the moment so no complaints

    woooo dude, theres an edit button

    Could try turning off AGP fast writes preferably in BIOs.

    Might be drivers though, make sure you do a proper clean and reinstall of drivers so no reminants of the previous ones are left behind.

    Maybe a problem with the Bios flash Jimmy? I bought a vivo as well that was flashed and running as an XTPE. The guy I bought it off wasn't using the stock cooler. Anyways, with the stock cooler on I couldn't run it like that, too much crashing and freezing etc...

    I re-flashed the bios back to the X800Pro then OC'd it back up again to XTPE speeds with no problems. Its only running on 12 pipes now but I can play everything at full whack so who's bothered?
