Gigabyte R9700 Pro and Arctic Cooling VGA Silencers

    Hello,

If anyone has or had a Gigabyte 9700Pro with a Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer, could they please post what Silencer they used and any problems they came up against?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

The silencer people have all the problems with is the Revision 3, it supposidly fits the card but i know of about 4 cases where it's killed the card for either bad GPU contact or another reason. Buy yourself a Revision 3 or one of the new 4's and take your time putting it on. I've got a Revision 3 on my 9800 Pro, does the job well

I have a Hercules 9700 with an Arctic Cooler fitted, I can't remember what revision it is but it's the older version with the blue fan (newer revisions have a black fan I think...). The only real problem with it is that it doesn't account for the shim around the edge of the GPU, so contact isn't as good as it might be... Never revisions have a bit on the base which 'sticks out' (for lack of better description), so that it makes proper contact.

I think I'm going for a Zalman ZF700-Cu as they seem to be alot easier and simplier to install. According the all the reviews I've read it gets very good results with low noise levels and as with most Zalman products its very good quality.
