this is a picture of my tvout cable for my Rad8500.

I wish to actually use it after sitting on it for years.
one of the ends matches the tvout port on my r8500, and one of then is svid.
the final connector should be composite, and looks like an RCA connector, actually more like a phono - any ideas what it actually is?
any help greatly appreciated, i really dont want to buy an svid > composite converter for this POS tv :)
One is a Svid, the other (orange) is composite...
They are just the connector ends not the cable-type plugs.
Yeah, the phono-type one is composite. You just need a cable to connect it to your TV:).

sure, where's best for a svid > scart connector, since im buying a connector anyway it might as well be the better variety :)
(i dont know why i was barking up the composite route in the first place, i know svid is better! :))
If your TV is old, it may not support S-Video into the scart socket. Check before buying.
If it does though, I once bought one of those converter blocks that plugs into a scart socket and then gives switcheable in/out composite/S-Video/sound connections (sorry for the clumsy description:rolleyes: ) in a pound shop. One of those and an S-Video cable and you're in business. Alternatively, Jessops do a switcheable scart to S-Video lead for about £7 (or at least they did last time I checked a year or two ago).

RGB/Component - high
S-Video - middle
Composite - low

well i found a converter that my dad had bought from Aldi. this has all the required connectors, including a 'use this if your tv does not accept svid through scart'.
even though its all set up, ati drivers updated it still doenst work.
could be my cheapy 14" matsui tv, or nasty r8500 and drivers, or cheap drivers.

Um....dunno TBH. The switching time is too slow to be sure for definate. If I could be bothered, I'd start messing around with the pins in the lead to see what's what. As it happens though, I CBA:p
