its not that cheap, about what it should be id say.
difference between 128mb and 256mb on 9800's = nowt worth worrying about, by time you get to resolutions 256mb of ram is useful for textures the GPU has ran out of puff.
it would make a nice upgrade from your 9600XT, not a marvellous jump, but a worthy one.
Hey Cougho :o
Last time i looked, used 9800pros were £100+, so they've dropped £20 in a couple of months?
256MB will be a little better but only for a couple of games, as most dont use anymore than 128MB unless you go to really high resolutions 1600x1024 e.t.c.
But as [DW]Cougho has said the GPU starts to struggle anyway.
I know that with 128MB call of duty at extra high settings stutters a little but does not with 256MB
So little games us the extra memory that it isnt worth the extra money.
yo man, yeah, they still command a respectable price considering how old they are.Quote:

it might be a bit on the cheap side, but consider:
1. its off ebay
2. its got an arctic cooler therefore any warranty remaining is up the spout.
so all in all id say the price is about right.
Yeah but the arctic cooler unlocks far more potential than a stock cooler. Plus if your buying 2nd hand your not really looking for warranty... more of a bargain.
If your using ebay make sure its from someone who has good feedback, otherwise if your not wanting to take risks for out an extra £50 for something that you get warranty with. Im selling my 9800 Pro for £95 inc pnp if your interested CMUK. Clocks right upto XT speeds, nearly 20k marks on 3d mark 2001 and 2k6 on 3dmark 05
Let me know
Chris
