Question Red Devil Golden Sample & PSU

I have a Seasonic Focus Plus 550w Gold and my concern is will this be enough for the Powercolor RX580 Red Devil Golden Sample?

    The website states that a minimum of 600/650w is required and my rig is not OC'd, R5 1600, 16GB 3000, B350, 970 Evo M2, 1TB HDD, 3 ML120 fans.

I have my eye on either Corsair RM750x or EVGA 650 G3 just in case the Seasonic isn't sufficient for the job.

I'd have a look here. You can input your exact components and get an output. With yours I expect that it's a decent PSU will play into it but I'd still not be wanting to be too near the limit of output over a long period of time. Bear in mind that those recommended PSU specs will be also taking into account those people who have bought very cheapo PSUs and so there will be some margin added.

My gut says yes it'll do it but you'll be very near the limit which isn't ideal for a protracted gaming session but I'd quantify it properly as above.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've just completed a calculation and the total load wattage was 475w, so I've just ordered the Corsair RM750x as it's currently on offer.

The Seasonic is a quality unit and I don't want to push any limits, delivery is tomorrow so i'll wait till then to power up.

You might as well try it. Nothing is likely to go up in smoke (though I'm not sure) at worst it should just power down if you run furbench (what was that call it?) and oc a lot

Thanks for the info Jim and co. I've already donated the Seasonic to my daughters build and awaiting delivery of my new PSU, I have no doubt that the Seasonic would handle it, would like a bit more headroom for OC'ing in the near future.

Re: Red Devil Golden Sample & PSU

There's a 550W corsair unit for sale on Hexus that would be plenty:

edit: oh, you're selling it. No need to sell it, just use it for the above card.
