Power Strip on a Rad9800 Pro

    I have a fresh XP install.......and a Rad 9800 Pro 128 mb beast

    I just whacked 3d Mark 2001 in and got a nice 15333.....XP2400 6-3-3 Cas 2 1 meg andAsus A7N8x....but thats not relevant.,

In goes Power Strip 3.45.......default is 380 core 340 mem

    Crank it up to 400 core and 350 mem.....run 3d mark 2001.....

stable but a lowers score....14900.....OK not too bad.....maybe fluke

BNut check back in Power Strip.....core is at 400 I set BUT Mem is at 210 !!!!!

Slide it back up....musta been me.....*nod to myself*

Run it again..same score to within 10 points.....check Power Strip......210 again on mem...

    WASSUP?

yeah, dunno what it is, i installed powerstrip , just got watercooling on the 9800 pro, so wanted to see how much the core would clock now. ANyway, after clocking, i could get it up to 450/380, but if i tried any higher on either core or mem, then for some reason it knocked core down to 110mhz core. No idea why, i tried rage3d tweaker, but that didn't seem to agree with computer/drivers, once i rebooted it had limited my res options, with my two main wanted ones not there. Which was crap, so i del'd and had to reinstall drivers.

But it did let me clock to 500/390 before i rebooted and couldn't use res's properly.

Still looking for something good, if the omega drivers have clocking stuff in, will give them a try.

Funny thing....tried Rebooting and asking Power Strip to NOT boot on windows startup.....then checked.....fine....new speeds set.

Must be a registry thing I guess
