I've got an nvidia 1080 ti which has been a really powerful card for me for a long time - not stressed, zero problem. However some of the nvidia optimise suggestions for games are now lowering the settings so in the past a game would have had settings of "max, max, max" they are now suggestion settings of "max, good, average"
The devil in me suggests this is a marketing trick to get you to buy a new card as I just can't accept that some games have made such a big jump to stress this card, and to be honest playing most games on max:max:max type settings is zero issue
I guess multiple questions come from this
a.) are the optimised settings really as "marketing" driven as I'm suggesting ?
b.) what is the current best real world method of testing your cards load while using these max:max:max type settings to see if it's struggling (overall the machine is not)
c.) the nvidia's compare tool on their website is utter crap, what sort of benifit would I see real world from 2080ti against my current 1080ti ?
thanks
