    Driving a Dell 2005FPW

Thankfully Dell can ship out here, so that's the TFT problem solved.

Now I just need to make sure I can drive it well enough to make the most of it. I'm getting an SN95G5v2 with an Ath64 3800+ and an X800 Pro.

Will that be enough to run at a decent resolution ?

I think TWO 2005FPW displays would be a touch of overkill

I`ve got a 12ft wall in front of me nowadays which would make an excellent site for a wall of 2005`s and I`m very tempted to subvert next years deesign studio budget.
Not to hijack the thread or owt but I`ve been put off the L90D+ (panel type/amount of colours etc....) and am thinking of the Dell but can`t make my mind up about wide screen or 4:3.
Maybe one of each if I can talk our distrib people into a trial deal but would likely be better with a pair......not sure which way to go but need something shortly as I`m back to a single 1915s just now and money`s burning a hole.....

If you are considering spending £800 on two wide screen TFT's you have got to ask yourself why! If you want this kind of setup - you are gonna want to make use of it for games and movies - but if this is your aim, why not spend the money on a decent widescreen projector or 30" TFT TV instead?

Basicly, that`s my work environment and where I previously had 5 Iiyama monitors spread across 2 desks and I need a similar setup at home for DV work and my normal gaming (not too heavy a gamer but it makes a break) plus the general tasks of monitoring servers and networks remotely so I don`t have to live at work.
PIP is ideal for multi tasking a monitor so the Dell wins out there anyway, just can`t figure whether to go for 2 wides/2x4:3 or a mix as I`m a bit more limited for space at home though I`ve got a double wrap around desk there and still don`t have enough room.
Don`t like projectors and TV types are mainly crap and even more expensive.
Anyway, work pays for them and I get to use any spares we order for the design studio and the AG`s have gone back (though they were adequate for me) so we need to be looking at replacements which have a decent resolution and can handle digital video and graphics and I`m the one who has to sort it out inside the budget restraints.
So guess I speak to Dell and see what kind of price we can get cos I`m definitely getting rid of those back breaking Iiyama`s if it`s the last thing I do this year.
