It looks like a recreated chart using data from the TechSpot review: https://www.techspot.com/review/1870...adeon-rx-5700/ - their Cost Per Frame chart is near the bottom of their review and the figures are identical.
loccothan, it's polite to acknowledge your sources when posting information, as people can then a) give credit where it's due, and b) read the full review and commentary that goes with the numbers. And if you've found this somewhere else, it might be worth pointing out to them that their charts bear a striking resemblance to those produced by TechSpot...

So the takeaway from the new card reviews is that you should buy an older card (Vega 56). Vega 56 still has respectably high average FPS yet the lowest cost/frame.
If you're happy with the extra 80W - 100W power draw during gaming and double the noise, sure. But that's fairly standard whenever a new gen of cards come out - if older, "higher rung", cards are available they'll be at knock down prices and are a good bargain if price is your only concern.
Yeah I've been considering a Vega 56 against a 5700 but since I currently have a 500W PSU then I'd probably want to factor in a new PSU if I went for the Vega. There's also Radeon Image Sharpening which apparently works kinda nice for a bit extra performance with no noticeable drop in image quality - I know you can technically run RIS on any card via software, but it runs on the 5700 series without any performance hit.
Would like to see the 2080 Super on here. Assume it comes in just under the Radeon VII ?

I'm not a fan of cost per frame, because we don't buy GPUs just for the e-peen. Graphics is a hygiene factor - above some minimum needed for smooth gameplay, more frames don't help. A better comparison would be to determine the cheapest GPU capable of hitting the desired frame rate in modern games at the desired resolution.
Anything can look cheap if you do it per unit of generally insignificant measure...
