    Question 6800GT/256 - no 32bit colour?

Looking @ major rig upgrade (so much money - so little to show for it!) and spotted that Dabs have Gigabyte 6800GT (NX68T256DH) cards at good price (£217 approx inc tax - gotta be a misprint!). That card's supposed to have the full GT spec chip, PCI-E interface and 256MB DDR3 memory.

Downloaded the manual from tech support area of site and it seems to say that you can't have 32bit colour (16.7Mil) at any rez > 960x600.

Now since my current (now pretty crappy) card can do 1028x768x32bit without too much stress, I'm thinking the manual's gotta be wrong, (or I've misread it). Otherwise, this means that the G'byte card's pretty crummy - which would be another explanation for the cheap price.

You folks are the experts, whaddya think?

    Thanks

All 6800's must do 32bit colour I would have thought. My one certainly does.

Yep that's what I thought. But sure enough section 5.2 of the manual says no 32bit colour @ 1024x768. That said, it also says the maximum refresh at that rez is 240Hz, so maybe it actually means that you can't get that particular colour-depth/refresh-rate/resolution combination. In which case maybe a more realistic refresh rate would work?

Wierd - maybe I should just stump up the cash and buy the damned board...
