    Vivo

    Is tv-out, video in the same as VIVO? Im talking about the MSI x800 xl. Does the MSI use the rage theater chip then, like the powercolour? Is the MSI the best x800xl, im talking about the ones that have dual DVI and VIVO. Has the Connect3D got VIVO? sos, just cant seem to figure out which ones do and dont, conflicting specs.
    Thanks

    There are plus points for all card manufacturers (for both ATI and nVidia)

    If you are buying your first card because you want to get into gaming - then the MSI game bundle (mix of full games and limited level demos) is pretty impressive

    You won't get all of these with every card - but you might get a lot of them with a high end product:-
    Chronicles of Riddick
    Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
    XIII
    URU
    Deus Ex: Invisible War
    IL-2: Sturmovik
    Black Hawk Down
    Comanche 4
    American Conquest
    Beach Life
    Destination Berlin
    Divine Divinity
    EtherLords 2
    Heaven & Hell
    Typhoon Rising
    Praetorians
    Splinter Cell (original)
    Yager

    If you don't have a game collection - then this is a 'tidy bundle' to be starting with

    On the other hand - you might be a long-term experienced gamer and not value any of these titles at all

    The important thing is understanding what the complete offer from the board partner is - and making sure you weigh that in when making your decision

    well, apparently the MSI is the quietest (with a fan) it has vivo and dual DVI (not that i need dual but its a feature) and i trust MSI to make a good product ( not so with powercolour) Its also v cheap. The games bundle, according to the MSI site, isnt all of those games

    MSI Denoted the Video In / Video Out [ViVo] feature with the letter V and T in the latter half of the marketing name. In the case of our RX800XL-VT2D256E (http://www.msicomputer.co.uk/product...3559&cat_id=78) the breakdown is as follows:

    R X800XL – V T 2D 256 E

    R = MSI’s Notation for Ati (from Radeon)

    X800XL = Ati’s marketing name for GPU used on card

    V = Video In

    T = TV Out

    2D = Dual DVI (Prefix of 2 denotes the Dual)

    256 = 256MB Graphics Memory

    E = PCI-Express

    These follow the same idea for all our products. The RX800XL does therefore have both Dual DVI and the Rage Theatre ViVo Chip. I cannot speak for the other manufacturers, but now you know where you stand with the MSI product!

    P.S -> ViVo is simply Video In / Video Out, so is identical to Video In / TV Out, just different words.

    P.P.S -> The MSI games bundle varies from card to card, but no matter what the card (providing its retail) you can pretty much rely on XIII, Prince of Persia - Sands of Time, and Uru : Beyond the Myst New games bundle on our Diamond graphics cards is Chronicles of Riddick (top game)

    If you want to watch tv, yes. Or an AIW card.
