Nvidia Resizable BAR Support, Rollout Begins

Hi All,

Just thought i'd drop a post to say Nvidia has started their Resizable BAR Support for 3000 series GPUs as well as supported AIBs.

It requires a combination of supported motherboard / 3000 series GPU and supported CPU, Nvidia states 5000 series CPUs from AMD but should also work with 3000 series CPUs as long as the motherboard vendor supports.

Nvidia has whitelisted games in the latest driver update released today so should show a performance gain only in select games.

I hate to be that guy but I am wondering if the new firmware has the Ethereum hashrate limiter enabled?

Uncertain at this time, i few reports saying its causing issues with Nicehash and its auto overclock feature, others saying a small drop in hashrate but fixed by rolling back the driver (Not the Vbios).

Thanks Jasp, I also saw a post on Reddit this morning, so I flashed my 3070 FE and updated the drivers (before) and it works now. Not got any games on the list, though.

theres a BAR option on my ASUS B450-F gaming. been in since 9/12/20 BIOS 4007
then they improved the nvidia 3xxx support in 4204 on the 29/1

and now im seeing a new one from 29/3 that offers

ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING BIOS 4301
"- Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.1
- Support Smart Access Memory for Ryzen 3000 Series Processors
- Improve system performance"

wondering about the SAM and whether to try it, the https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/smart-access-memory page says its for AMD 6000 series GPUs but im using a 7770 which is one series higher. so should work right?

A friend of mine just updated the BIOS on their Gigabyte B450I mini-ITX motherboard which has a Ryzen 7 3700X,and it seems Resizable BAR now works with the RTX3060TI. My Asus B450I Strix now has a new BIOS which states the following:

ROG STRIX B450-I GAMING BIOS 4301
"- Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.1
- Support Smart Access Memory for Ryzen 3000 Series Processors
- Improve system performance"

Just installed the firmware update for my 3080, all seems fine and resizable BAR is showing as enabled in the nvidia control panel.

I'd held off starting the f/w update when I downloaded it at lunchtime today, as was worried it wouldn't be done before the end of my lunch break. So I felt kinda stupid just now when I installed it, only to find it didn't even take 10 seconds to complete

Its worth noting people with FE cards are reporting no issues but those with dual bios AIBs have to be careful to pick the correct bios for the active in use bios or they could run into issues when flashing.

Gigabyte cards were a pain to update. There were about 6 different versions for my Aorus 3080. I had to double check which firmware to download for my specific card, to prevent the off chance that I were to brick it
