    RX 590 Low profile gpu

    I’m trying to find a good low profile gpu, I’ve spotted a 1650 low profile and a 550 and an 1050ti, but I’m looking at no more than around £170.00 in order to get a low profile card, I would hope not to have to replace the psu (currently a Cooler Master MWE White 400 v2) but will if I have to as I can just use that one in a new build to sell, that one only have an 8 pin for the gpu.

    I would like to get the 590 for a pure price to power balance, but I would also be happy with the 1660, but again, I can’t find one in low profile.

    Does anyone have any suggestions for low profile equivalent that I haven’t mentioned here?

    thanks

    Re: RX 590 Low profile gpu

    The problem with low profile cards is that they're a lot harder to cool, so you very rarely get low profile versions of the higher end cards as they simply couldn't strap on a big enough cooler to manage the extra power. Not to mention that if the card's going in a low profile case airflow is going to limited, so, again, you're going to struggle to get adequate cooling. And, of course, the much smaller PCB makes it difficult to squeeze a power connector on there, so you're probably going to be limited to 75W board-power GPUs anyway.

    The 1650's a pretty good card to get in low-profile format. Seems to be available just under £150 on Amazon. I can't see you doing much better than that.

    When you say low-profile. Do you mean;

    1) How long the card is, e.g. how far back towards the front of the case it reaches

    2) How many rear expansion slots the card takes up, e.g. most GPUs are two slot to accomodate the heatsink

    3) The width of the card, e.g. (link)

    Re: RX 590 Low profile gpu

    1650 is the fastest low profile card you can currently buy. This should change once Nvidia release Ampere, but I wouldn't expect low-mid tier low profile cards until Spring 2021 at a guess. Until then it seems the 1650 will be the best available.

    Re: RX 590 Low profile gpu

    ‘low profile’ as far as i’m aware only means the height, I didn’t spot the low profile 1650 on amazon but to be honest, the reason it’s taken so long to respond to your replies in part is because i’ve grown weary of the constant issues with the current hdtv case, so i’m changing it up in a week or so and putting in a 580 which should solve all the issues i’ve been having https://www.scan.co.uk/products/silv...-black-w-o-psu
