Well that was covered in Igor's video at 10:22, where's basically saying it was retro-fitted (Lötskills = soldering skills).

Can't believe how many people are dismissing it saying it only applies to overclocks.
It's almost like people still don't understand how Nvidia's boost works.
CB always list frequencies during benchmarking and while none of the FE cards were over 2GHz, their boost was pretty close.
If the fix for this turns out to be a BIOS or driver change which drops performance even by 1-2%, I can imagine people will be pretty annoyed.
That Buildzoid guy seems to be obsessed with using the correct name. Kind of strange as American's tend to do crazy using brand names as generic names: Xerox, Hover, etc.
If ASIC quality is a factor, then it seems to me that if a company releases chips clocked near their max, they have to make sure the chips are well binned.

This is why I am hit and miss on ordering GPUs,etc at launch as you end up being a beta tester. Buildzoid is UK based, but born in the Czech Republic,so isn't American.

I stand corrected. I tend to forget how many people learn English watching American TV etc.

Yes, rushing to be a beta tester always seems like a very bad idea. Obviously, if everybody was sensible and waited nobody would ever buy anything. But as long as people rush, I am quite happy let the impatient do the beta testing. That they are even willing to pay extra for the privileged is very public-spirited of them!
