Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone was able to get the 3080 fe drop today? I used guest checkout and got all the way to purchase successful but no confirmation so I didn't get it, just wondering if anyone has any tips, would be much appreciated :)
At the moment you basically have to be sat at your PC all day, signed up to some alert service, such as PartAlert (Maybe not all day, FE drops are USUALLY around 1-3pm, think there was one odd one around 10am)
You probably want to be logged in to Scan already, and have details pre filled like your address - I think using Paypal is quicker than card but i don't have a paypal
They sold out in about 1-2 minutes yesterday, so if you aren't clicking the link almost immediately, you aren't going to get one
Also make sure you're good at identifying boats lol!!
Meh, 3080 is old now. Not worth it.
Wait for a 3080 Ti at the end of Feb.
Tips? Yeah, camp out on the nvidia page and spam your f5 key. Other than that, lube up and bend over, coz you're gunna get royally shafted on the price.
Prefill payment and address details. Practice the action of quickly adding it then going to basket and checking out. See where all the boxes are that you need to fill in so when it is actually in stock you can save a few seconds.
Though I haven't had any need to jump on the new cards bandwagon recently had to do this for the Xbox Series X. Stock alerters are good but often delayed or there are too many people at once depending on them. Constant F5'ing is the best way but that takes a lot out of your day.
Wait! Wait as long as you can stand, and then wait some more, and then consider compromising and maybe getting a 3070ti or something.
All you need is a little Energon and a lot of luck...

Stock alert discord channels, my friend. It's the only way.

I got my 3060Ti in December with a 2pm drop, the 3080 drop yesterday was 3pm from what I can tell, I even asked NVidia when the next drops would be and all you get is thanks for your interest in our products and nothing else
2pm drops are going to be a meme for ever now :mrgreen: It's literally the first thing I type when coming and going from the part alert channels! And many times in the day when I pop on and off :p
I used CtrlAltStock and PartAlert Discord channels and managed to get a 3070FE from Scan UK without any trouble. Just checked out as a guest and used PayPal as that's the quickest thing!

Been after a 3080 for 6 weeks now to complete my sons Christmas build. I'm using discord for stock notifications but haven't bagged one yet.
My advice if wanting one any time soon is pay scalper prices. Either that or plently of patience and stick with it.
End of Feb? I heard say indefinitely delayed.
If end of Feb it is then I'll sit it out until they come onto the market.

3080 is rare as hell tbh, managed to get a rx6800xt which is 200 quid over MSRP from an UK established retailer but this seems to be the norm these days.
Subscribe to a few Discord channels where you can see drops.
Login to Scan and Paypal in advance so you can check-out as soon as possible.
Alternatively, you can save your Card in your account and remove it after the purchase.
no point on Scan atm if you want a 3080. They're still working through the backlog of pre-orders. Some 3070 came out last week, I managed to get one, but 3080 won't be available from Scan for a good few weeks yet.Quote:

In a short version, yeah that's an easy way to look at it. If you knew things were shutting down for a week, you'd take other steps to make sure stuff wasn't wasted or sitting waiting in warehouses or whatever, so it works out to longer than 1 week total delays.Quote:

OP did you ever actually manage to get your 3080FE? Something noone seems to have mentioned is that you should keep refreshing on scan for anything up to 10-15 minutes. The buy button can come back as some orders get cancelled due to the single 30xx card limit per person/address/IP that scan have. This was how I ended up managing to grab mine, helped that it was the Saturday morning drop that noone expected though. FE Drops have been weird after the 3060 launch with that one at 8.30pm last week too.Quote:
