    Which GPU for HTPC 4k output?

    Hi Folks,

    I have a HTPC which i use to play 4k Bluray remuxes etc, as well as Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video. All on my 4k projector.

    I need to gpu for this. I am not going to be using MadVR or anything to upscale older content. It just needs to output 4k video with HDR to my av receiver and projector. Maybe HEVC support would be good as well.

    Can anyone tell me what GPU would suffice? My other HTPC specs for reference are: Ryzen 5 3600, Asus Strix B450, 16GB Ram, Corsair TX550

    Thank you for your help. Happy to go with AMD or Nvidia. Also, what prices would these cards (that you reccommend) normally go for? I know the market is a mess now. I am happy to buy used.

    I think for some of these online streaming services you need a secure hardware chain to run 4K content?? AFAIK,the Intel IGPs support this from Kabylake onwards,so an Intel based system might have been a simpler solution!

    It appears Nvidia says you need at least a GTX1050 with 3GB or more of VRAM:

    I would probably aim for a GTX1050TI or GTX1650. This GTX1650 GDDR6 appears to be cheaper than the GTX1050TI GPUs I was looking at:

    The fact its actually in stock is more amazing!!

    CEX sell the GTX1050TI and GTX1650 secondhand for £135,but the GDDR6 version I linked to sells for £190!

    The one you linked too in box is sold out so, out of your options, which one would be the best or cheapest haha? Although finding stick will be hard I guess!

    I did hear about the secure chain etc. This is a Ryzen 5 build so intel not an option unfortunately.

    A GTX1050TI or GTX1650 would probably do the trick. I will PM you some links.
