Anyone who has bought a 3080 in last few weeks, what are prices currently like ?

Very few places list prices, trying to squeeze an extra few quid here and there, and I'm trying to figure out if it's time yet to put effort into getting one, because while I'll pay an extra few quid, there is deffo a limit for something like a PC part.

Amazon is obviously well out, they're disgusting with their price manipulation, plus I try not to give that rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish money whenever I can. They use auto price changing on demand, and I've seen some vile prices. But most other places seem to be seeing what they can get away with on a first come first serve basis, and it's hard to pin down the premium.

So I'm just trying to find prices for whatever the average card is, anyone had any luck ?

To be honest with you Amazon algorithm usually follows other places so not sure if it can be blamed and Amazon prices tend to be quite good in comparison over the last few months. For example they still sold Strix 3080s at £800 whenever those were last in stock a few weeks ago whilst everyone else is well over £1k now which is ridiculous. I would say Scan, Amazon and Currys are your best bets for (somewhat reasonable) pricing on AIB side, however, they all have gone up significantly in recent months, I am not sure if there's some kind of point where it's more of a supplier scalp rather than retailer one. Avoid OCUK, CCL and eBuyer, £1k - £1.1k minimum for any kind of 3080.

Prices are rising rapidly, all the AIB manufacturers have now formally confirmed price rises. Chinese new year starts this month and component prices are rising with shortages specifically in GDDR memory modules

Some retailers in the Uk are now selling cards for more than eBay scalpers!!!

The retail price for the 3080 is definitely on the rise, while it is extremely annoying, we gotta take into account the increased components used in these GPUs and cost of containers and shipping, and possibly more time/fees spent with customs & duties etc importing into the U.K. Plus another big factor with crypto currency mining which pushes demand over the limit.

all in all i dont think the price will come down until Q3 2021, and this would be my very pessimistic view.

Not me but a friend purchased a 3080 from a local in-store retailer. He paid £1100 for it. Yes it's much more costly than MSRP, but given the current situation, it's much better value than purchasing a scalped one

Its shocking at the prices, and its quickly going to become the norm I think, the last 18 or so months have just, well, gone to poop...

I bought a Gigabyte RTX 3080 Eagle Oc on release day Sep 17 for a reasonable 750 euros. Still waiting for the card.
