    Updating the firmware of my Rx480

    I wanna update the firmware of my Rx 480 to rx 580.
    are there any catch on doing this?
    i hear rx 480's are having heating issue ??

    Why on earth would you want to do that?

    I don't know of anything that an RX580 can do that an RX480 can't. The 480 is earlier silicon, so they aren't quite as efficient. Updating the BIOS won't make it run cooler, you need to underclock or undervolt your card for that.

    Make sure the fan isn't clogged up with dust first though.

    I think he's confused with the whole unlocking 8GB memory on 4GB RX's, but the success rate isn't great.
