    17" vs 19"

I was going for the sharp LL 172GB But being in a room today, playing CS and half life 2 ,with a 17" tft and 19" tft the 19 was lovely. Can i get a good 19" for £250- £300 NO MORE
    thanks!

Hold out for the Dell 2005 it`s really fantastico and only £385 just now.
1620x1200 if you`ve got the card to run games fast on a big screen.

IIRC, the 2005FP is the widescreen version. 2001FP is 4:3 with 1600x1200 resolution. Looks like a very nice screen but probably more than nvening can afford.

Check out the dell tft monitor thread.

Edit, you can get the 1905FP which is a 19", Dsub and DVI inputs, 1280x1024 for about £250. 20ms, 800:1 contrast. Looks like a good deal if they can actually deliver one from stock

Don't know if I'm allowed to do this so mods please delete if you want but this guy at tech PC has a 19" LG TFT for sale:

    http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/forum/viewt...5824d706bfb702

I've got the size below (17") and it is great. Mine has Digital but there is no real difference imo.

But how do the monitors quality compare to the sharp? The sharp is supposed to be great.

EDIT: Looked at Computetr shopper and they rec this http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...ce=PriceRunner
Ill have it in black please
    *opinions please*
EDIT: Ah, is 25ms, thats not good.
I think mabe i should stick with the sharp.

ive used the sharp before and its very nice, but no better than the other top monitors (viewsonic, iiyama etc...) but it is very pretty

a week or 2 ago a mate bought this viewsonic vx912 and its great for games, bright fast and dvi

have a look around for reviews, the ones ive read are positive for sure.

I am gonna hang on until they reduce the 20' FP even more. I am not gonna spend over £350 for a monitor.

I have recently bought a ViewSonic VX912B .. Wow what a TFT, is all I can say!.. I got it for £305, and it has DVI, 12ms response time, and is 19inch!.. Very nice for games, DVD's and general web browsing.. Well I would say its great for everything I have used it for (photoshop etc.etc.)..

Highly recommend this monitor, its stylish, has a GREAT picture quality and has no signs of ghosting at all, and its great for the price. I definately have no regrets (had it for just over a week now!)..

Definately worth a look at (and a buy!).. ..

Think i have found it! The Dell 1905FP. Nice and cheap and ironically, it uses the same panel as my friends 193P! Which costs about £100 more!
Any one own this? Its 20ms but we all no the ms tricks and reading a review makes me think its fine (that and playing on my friends one).
I heard u can haggle Dell on the phone, any tips?

One thing I'm not clear on with 19" TFTs is that the resolution is no different to that of a 17" TFT so surely the picture won't be as sharp?

I'm shopping for a new TFT at the moment too and can't decide between the Sharp which has great reviews and looks great or a larger Dell model.

Well yes, they are the same res and mabe ther is a very slight difference in sharpness but not much. What you are missing though is the extra 2" of screen, once you are in a room with a 17" and a 19" you will no what i mean.
    Also this:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...=64832&_LOC=UK
And the dell, use the same panel, seems to be a slight difference in the price ey

Oh and i was playing half life 2 and counter strike on the samsung yesterday and it was great!
