Upgrade from 660gt
Folks,
I think I know the answer to this, but I'd appreciate your input.
Current rig: Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6ghz
Asrock B450M Pro4-F
Video card is a Palit GTX 660
Running three monitors, each at 1920 x 1080.
It's an old card, obviously. I'm looking at upgrading, mainly because the GTX660 does not allow UEFI boot, so Windows 11 (as I understand it) is not an option.
I don't really game on the PC any more: Dawn Of War 1 & 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Unreal 3, halflife 2... I'm a bit old like that ;) Got a PS5 now.
What I DO do is a bit of video editing: home and community activity videos in 1080p, editing (Shotcut, MKVcutter, Handbrake, whatever works, really), recoding to x264 or x265. Other than that, it's mainly spreadsheets and office use these days.
About the only upgrades that I think I can afford at the moment would be to the GTX 1650s which ebuyer seems to have at a "reasonable" price:

So, my question for you: do you think it's worth it? Would it have an impact on video encoding/ editing? Or should I just plod on until the prices come down (if ever) and I can get an RTX (raytraced minecraft does sound appealing...)
Thanks

Re: Upgrade from 660gt
Is it just the UEFI that you want/need? (everything else being just a bonus) Don't even the 7xx series support that if you needed a 'cheap' upgrade?

Re: Upgrade from 660gt
That rules out the RX6500XT because of its lack of a full media decoder/encoder.
Although overpriced by at least £50 this is the best you can do under £200:

The GTX1650 you linked to is the slower GDDR5 version. However, the GTX1650 GDDR6 does not have the full Turing media engine either:

Ideally you would wait for a newer generation, but unless you really game a lot a £200+ dGPU is going to be a waste of money.

Thanks both,
I think I'll wait a few months, see how things lie then. Apprecaite the pointers.
