When you plug a standard analogue monitor in, the signal produced by your graphics card is converted from digital to analogue. It's then sent to your CRT where it's converted back to digital. As a result of the conversion, there can be a loss of image quality, and analogue connections seem generally more subject to interference. DVI basically skips the whole conversion process, and gives a straight digital signal to your screen. In many ways it can actually be EASIER installing a TFT than a CRT.
1) Refresh rate settings are irrelevant - there ain't none
2) It'll automatically display at the correct resolution for the screen.
So, basically, you plug it in and it just works.
Plug it in. Sort resolution. Play.
Quite Simple.
Some of the monitors at work dont, tho they are 4+yrs old so Id guess a new one will!Originally Posted by nichomach
Ah...fair enough; all the ones I've played with so far have sorted themselves. Mind you, aside from my two Belineas, the others have been either LGs or more commonly Dell.Originally Posted by Atomic
