    RX 6700 XT Owners...

    Hi,

decided I'll probably go for a 6700XT now...

I'd like to undervolt it but not reduce to clocks as I'm buying a pre-oc'ed one that's the clock speeds of a 6750.

‚ÄčI'm merely wanting to undervolt to get the best bang per buck power consumption wise so I can enjoy lengthy gaming sessions for as cheap as possible.

    It will be paired with a b550m, 32gb cas-16 ddr4 and a 5700x...

Just interested to see what people have gotten them down to as I've seen some very bold claims/footage/screenshots of some as low as 135w draw in game - but granted those have had the clocks touched slightly, but it would be cool if I could get it down to say RX 6600 XT wattage?

FWIW I'll be only running at 1080p and if possible frame capping it to 60fps as I'll only be playing SP games, so I'm only after as high as I can run graphics settings at 60fps and obviously this'll hopefully yield a few more years futureproofing at 1080p 60fps for future games, and I'll just drop the settings as required a time goes bye

    Any experience/input welcomed

    Thanks!

    Re: RX 6700 XT Owners...

135w doesn't sound unreasonable - my RX6800 regularly ran around 170-180W when undervolted. There's many way to limit power consumption, but I'd suggest setting the default undervolt option in Adrenaline, and limiting FPS to around 90-120, depending on personal tolerance. For most games I don't notice that much difference above 120 anyway, most of the gains are defintely up to 120 fps.

Thanks mate, was that a XT or regular 6800?

Yeah I'd like to not underclock it at all ideally and purely undervolt it as much as it allows to bring the consumption down. IIRC 1100mv is around the safe spot for these? I just take it down 25-50mv at a time and see how stable it is and set the memory to fast, right? Haven't physically used the software before but had a quick look at how it's done

I take it I just manually add each game and set the fps and launch them from the amd app? It's only going to be used for SP tbf, I might give csgo a bash but obviously that'll run on a stapler so I can uncap the framerate/set it to 144hz to 1:1 my monitor as required.

I'm an owner now Splashed out at Easter on a 'deal'. Haven't tried any of the settings though. Is the Radeon Chill option any good? So far I've only played a bit of Core Keeper so fear I may have done wasted potential/power

Chill's brilliant. Dead impressed with the options in the adrenaline software, and this might be my favourite. I was expecting some kind of delay as it ramps itself back up to speed, but no. Chill really excels when there's a lot of looking to be done without input.

'Magic' that I assume undervolts for you, haven't looked in detail though.

Might just tick the box and forget then, sounds like you don't really lose anything noticeable. Might save a few bob over a year!

Yeah that doesn't work very well, look at any real world testing. Just do it yourself, properly
I'll be using chill to framecap my fps for sure, never heard of core keeper though haha
