Improving TFT screen via GFX settings

Does anyone know if changing any GFX card settings can improve flat screen performance - I'm sure I heard someone say that turning off/on v-sync can reduce tearing/ghosting...
Are there are any settings or anything else at all that can improve flat screen performance???

for windows environment you need to run cleartype wizard as well for best performance, unless you already have

All TFT panels have a native resolution, and IIRC they also have a preferred refresh rate of sorts - so read up in the manual and see what the specs are and choose a mode accordingly, I guess...

Cleartype looks terrible on mine, makes everything look all blurry... With it off, everything's much sharper...

seeing as cleartype lets you personally choose what text looks better, I think the problem lies between your eyes and your brain

Well I don't know what's on your computer, but on mine you either have Cleartype on or off... and it looks worse with it on.

nothing special on mine just go to microsoft cleartype page and follow 3 simple steps, step one is indeed turning it on, then you have to pick from text samples which is best suited to you
