Dell 1905FP, I have done the same, its the same Samsung pannel as a £350 Samsung TFT !
just google it for a review
viewsonic vx912 - was my choice before i got a dell 24in
Samsung: http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/customer/pro...duct_uid=64832
Dell:

Same panel, very different price.
Go for the sharp - i had one (just sold to upgrade to the dell 2405) fantastic TFT, 19" your only getting a bigger screen and not any bigger useable area.
Sharp gets my thumbs up.
but it is still 2" of extra screen!
Don't know if this will help but I have the LL-172GB and it's a very nice screen, way better than my old panel. The colours are rendered so much better than my old Relisys TL-766B, then again that was an old budget panel.
My mate has the LL-191AB which is the 19" version and he loves it, but it is only analogue. It's about £260.
If you're willing to go for only analogue then the LL-T172AB analogue only version of my sharp panel is on offer for £160 at microdirect . That seems to be a real bargain particularly as the vga image quality seems to be at the same level of the dvi on my panel. Certainly makes it hard to justify £100 for the other interface.
About the Dell 1905, I bought 2 earlier this week, here's my summary:

Good points
- Cheap @ £240 each (haggled with Dell to get £10 off each screen)
- Uses one of the best panels around for colour reproduction
- 800:1 contrast (1000:1 claimed by Samsung - 800:1 by Dell - make of this what you will)
- DVI/VGA - easy to switch between inputs (one button press)
- Very adjustable stands (rotate, turn, tilt, height by about 1ft!)
- Each TFT has 4 USB2 ports (connects to PC using one USB cable)
- No dead pixels/subpixels
- Good quality - no creaking plastic, looseness. Very tight solid display + stand. Far better quality than many other similar priced TFTs.
- Acceptable for gaming (Took ~2 hours to get used to - felt sea sick at first!!)
Bad Points
- Ghosting obvious at first - but you should get used to it
- Not 1600x1200/4:3
- Dont have composite inputs for PS2/GC/Xbox/whatever
- Response time not as good as other screens available
- More expensive than 17" screens - uses with same resolution
- On screen adjustment is limited
- 3rd party tools needed for rotation through 180deg.
Uberness Factor: 5/5
Gaming: 3/5 - (4/5 after getting used to the screens)
2D Work: 5/5
Cost: 5/5
If your a hard core gamer, and very sensitive to ghosting, these screens arent for you. I'm a gamer... but for me I use my computer more for 2D work than fast paced 3D work. I sacrifised response time for better colours, viewing angle and contrast - the main reasons putting me off getting a TFT before now. For reference, I moved from a 19" Mitsubshi 930SB CRT.
So there you have it... my pointless summary! :)
This monitor came with a system reviewed in this months computer shopper. one of the pluss points was "a great monitor" (the dell)
If you are going to use DVI then the sharp has no equal, it is the best. If you are going to use VGA, then i would recommend a dell. The VGA just seems to suffer from occasionaly lack of crispness that hurts it in my opinion. On DVI it is perfect, and i've seen a lot of monitors.
VGA, is supposed to be not very good on the Dell. The Sharp is the better TFT BUT The dell is a 19" and is still good for the same ammount of cash.
I run 2 1905's, 1 on DVI, 1 on VGA. Both are equally as sharp and good in games. Wierd huh? :)Quote:
