To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

1280x1024 on my NEC 1760NX (DVI). Bought this just about a year and a half ago and it cost a fortune but I still love it!

You'll find that it's possible to run a game in any resolution you want, the problem is that the game makers don't provide the option, even though it's there

Surely games will assume that 1280x1024 is being fed to a 4:3 screen? I.e. the view will be the exactly same as with 1280x960. Just a different number of pixels are used to draw it.

The only game I know of that gives a different view with different resolutions is HL2, which actually gives you more lateral view with a widescreen.

Fair point about general Windows use though. No wonder I look 7% fatter in my photos.

been using 1600x1200 for a few years now on the CRT I have, when I am at work, 1280x1024 kills me, its way to small, to used to having load of space to play with.

    1280x1024 on a 17" screen, although I normally use 1024x768 in games.

1280x960@100hz for me on a 19" CRT. I also tested 1600x1200 for a few hours but the image quality didn't seem to be that good even with BNC inputs and the text/icons were too small.
